The "Urology Section" of the ASI was formed at their annual conference in Baroda. The first independent Department of Urology in India was also established around this time at St. George's Hospital, Mumbai.

The first formal postgraduate M.Ch. Uology training program was started at CMC Vellore.

The "Urology Section" was formally rechristened as the Urological Society of India (USI)

The Society established the Urology Gold Medal ifor a distinguished urologist for his services to Urology. 

Late Dr. Himadri Sarkar Memorial Oration during the Annual Conference.

The society started the Indian Journal of Urology.

Late Dr. G. M. Phadke Memorial Oration and Dr. Pinnamaneni Endowment Lecture and Gold Medal during the Annual Conference.

The Society created four zonal chapters with the idea of spreading Urology to each corner of the country. 

The USI Headquarters Office was established in New Delhi.

Electronic voting for electing office bearers.

Board of Education / Indian School of Urology was started for the promotion of educational activities and research.

The Youth of USI wing started for the young Urologists of the country below 45 years

The USI officially started six sections for the promotion of subspecialties, with their own bylaws, office bearers, section membership and annual meetings.

The Women of USI wing was started for women Urologists of India.
